A 2027 GMC Yukon Redesign? Not Yet

The GMC Yukon is back for 2027, but if you’re expecting a full-blown redesign, we have some bad news.

The GMC Yukon moves into 2027 with a lot of the same features and style found on the 2026 model, but you’ll enjoy some new upgrades–specifically on the off-road trim variants.

The AT4 and AT4 Ultimate trims get some new design features ready to catch the eye on the road and off it. Both trims will say goodbye to the Midnight Pine exterior color to make way for the new adventure-ready Coastal Dune hue.

The AT4 Ultimate gets new 20-inch machined and painted wheels, with a new 22-inch sparkly seven-spoke alloy wheel with gloss black inserts joining the lineup of customization options.

Those who want the extra power of a diesel engine will now need to opt in to the AT4 Premium Package or AT4 Premium Plus Package, and the Elevation Preferred Package now includes a power sunroof, Super Cruise, and the advanced Technology Package.

The 2027 GMC Yukon Engine Options

You can choose between three available powertrains: two robust V8 gas engines and an efficient diesel option.

The 5.3-liter V8 engine is standard on the Elevation and AT4 models, while the Denali and Denali Ultimate trims upgrade to the 6.2-liter V8. However, if you want diesel, every Yukon model can be equipped with the hefty powertrain.

Additional features include optional rear- or four-wheel drive and a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 pounds when equipped with the 5.3-liter engine.

A Closer Look at the 2027 GMC Yukon Interior

The Yukon provides room for what matters most, plus the extra items we can’t leave behind. The Yukon seats up to eight passengers, but with the second-row captain’s chairs, capacity drops to seven.

When it comes to cargo space, this large SUV offers plenty, with an impressive 133 cubic feet when all the seats are stowed. For those who want even more space, the Yukon XL bumps up to 145 cubic feet of storage, turning your SUV into a mini U-Haul.

The Elevation trim is a prime example that a baseline trim doesn’t have to be boring. With heated front and second-row leather-appointed seats, you can achieve maximum comfort from the start.

The Denali trim is luxurious, with heated and ventilated front perforated leather seating, plus heated second-row outboard seats with perforated leather surfaces. Did we mention the 16-way power-adjustable front seats also come with massage functionality?

The AT4 Ultimate is dark and mysterious, largely thanks to the Obsidian Rush interior, complete with red accents and full-grain leather seats.

Finally, the Denali Ultimate is a true testament to premium comfort and capability, offering second-row executive seating that features:

• Heated and ventilated captain’s chairs with massage feature
• 14-way power-adjusters
• Stainless steel Bose head-restraint speakers

Technology That Deserves a Standing Ovation
